Conference of the Research Network "Sprache und Wissen" (Language and Knowledge)
The annual conference of the Research Network "Sprache und Wissen" (Language and Knowledge) will take place from September 23 to 25, 2026 under the title "Reading between the lines: Pragmatics of the unspoken". The starting point is the observation that moralizations are often not explicitly formulated, but implicitly verbalized. The conference takes this as an opportunity to focus on the implicit - i.e. everything that is not said but is nevertheless communicatively effective.
The conference is being organized by Janine Dengler, Dr. Maria Becker and Prof. Dr. Ekkehard Felder. A varied program is in preparation and will be published shortly on the website of the research network.
In addition, the Graduate Platform is once again organizing an exciting workshop for all Master's students and doctoral researchers attending the SuW conference:
"How do you explain your research concisely, convincingly and in such a way that it arouses interest?"
This is exactly what the graduate workshop "Pitch Perfect" is all about, for which we are once again cooperating with the HEI_INNOVATION team at Heidelberg University. In the workshop, participants will learn how to create the perfect short pitch.
