FORUM Opening

Prof. Dr. Senja Post gave a keynote speech on the reorientation of the FORUM and also introduced MoWiKo.

Since October 1, 2024, the ZAK bears the name Studium Generale. Forum Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft (FORUM) (General Studies. Forum Science and Society). This reflects a programmatic development that has been pursued since Prof. Dr. Senja Post took up her position as scientific director in August 2021. In research and teaching, the aim is to broaden understanding of the complex exchange relationships between science and society and to contribute to a more objective public debate. In her keynote speech, Prof. Dr. Senja Post addressed the FORUM's idealistic goal and asked how and under what conditions science can contribute to a more objective public debate. She also presented MoWiKo and showed how this project builds on previous research under her leadership. Lisa Gaffney and Doris Teutsch answered questions about the project at the subsequent poster exhibition and engaged in conversation with the interested public.
